Religion

*Many religions agree with these objectives.
Los Horcones is not a religious community since there is no particular religion to which all members must subscribe, neither are we anti-religious. We encourage members to practice their religious principles in their daily life, instead of just talking about them.
Frequently asked questions about this theme.
1. Are you anti-religious?
No, we are not opposed to religion. We are opposed to religous people who discriminate against others. People who fight with others because of religious beliefs. People who compete to get more followers for their religion. In Los Horcones this is not considered communitarian behavior.
2.Can members practice the religion they wish?
Of course.
3. Do you have some kind of guru?
No.
4. Do you have religous rites?
No.
5. Do you have a church or temple in the community?
No. But we plan to build some kind of "meditation" center where members can meditate or pray to whomever they want.
6. So you are not a spiritual community.
Each particular member can be spiritual in his/her own way.
7. Is the science of behavior anti-religious?
No. The science of behavior and religion are not incompatible. A behavioral scientist can believe in God. However he/she may explain behavior (natural phenomena) according to natural events not to supernatural entities.
We behave as we do because of our environment -the culture or society where we were born, socialized or enculturated.
