Group Visits

Los Horcones welcomes visits from groups whether they come from institutions, associations or family.
Groups can visit for various lengths of time and under various programs according to their needs and interests.
Visit for the day. It includes:
- A 1 hour tour around the community given by a member who briefly explains the group about the functioning of the community.
- 1 or two hours for snack and/or recreation time within the group.
Note.- snacks can be bought in our small store of natural food products made in the community and other commercial product or you can bring your own snack.
Additional to this your group can add some of all the following activities:
- A more complete presentation of what is Los Horcones, what we do and plan to do and why. Questions and answers. Duration: 1 hour.
- A 2 hour conference about reflections on issues of your interest such as: Education, Ecology, Economy, Special Education, Psychology, Communal life, Utopias, Social problems, Sociology, Social work, Anthropology, Health, Cooperation, Cultural design, etc.
- A 4 to 6 hour course or workshop* on either of the following topics:
Self-knowledge (self-observation and self-behavior management).
Improving personal-relationships: friendship, courtship, marriage.
Child Education for Parents (child behavior management).
Special Education: Teaching Community Model.
Special Education: Behavior- analytic approach to Autism
Education: Reflections for Teachers.
Education: Improving Teaching Skills.
Education: The Personalizing Comunitarian and Behavioral Model
Education: The Personalized System of Instruction
Behavior Analysis and Radical Behaviorism what it is and its most frequent misinterpretations.
Radical Behaviorism a Humanistic Approach in our everyday life.
Behavior Analysis applied to Cultural Design: Los Horcones.
* Participants to the workshop receive a certificate.

Week-end or Two-days visit.
- Any of the activities described above under "visit for the day"plus:
-A collaborative labor activity (the group can cooperate in one or various projects of the community work for that day such as work in the organic garden, with the chickens or pigs, painting a fence, unloading bricks from a truck, etc.)
- Recreational activity organized by the community such as hiking, pic-nic, horseback riding, sports or crafts.
One or Two Weeks visit.
This gives the group the possibility of a longer stay and more involvement in the community.
The program can include activities described above plus more cultural and recreational activities.
It is recommended for groups who want to take better advantage of their visit or those who travel from far.

- Call, e-mail or fax two weeks in advance to arrange one day and week-end visits and 1 or 2 months in advance to arrange longer stays.

-Include the following information:
Describe your group.
Possible number of participants, (teachers, students, other....)
If students, describe what grade or level (to adapt the presentation to the group age level).
Give a name and telephone/e-mail of the person responsible of visiting arrangements.
Describe objective of your visit and activities preference/
Give a tentative date & duration of the visit.
Describe where are you coming from.
COSTS
Once we receive the information on the kind of visit you want to make and the kind of activities you want to include, we can tell you the cost.
There is a minimum fee for the tour and explanation of the community and it increases according to the activities included. The minimum fee is different according to the number of people in the group.
